Aromatherapy Classes and Hands on Training
Jodi is considered Twin Cities area "go to" expert and resource for hands on, integrative aromatherapy training and wellness resources in the Twin Cities. For the last 6 years, her popular "Essential Oil Therapies" curriculum has been offered in continuing education and customized training and development at both Anoka Ramsey and Normandale Community Colleges, as well as Rochester, Mankato and Red Wing colleges – who are partnered with Fairview Health Systems. Due to the exciting growth of Aromatherapy as an accepted complimentary therapy in a variety of medical settings, she was hired as an adjunct faculty member and her class introduced in 2010 as a credited course option. Health professionals who have taken this class report they can confidently implement safe aromatherapy methods right away - with great results.

Aromatherapy Consulting and Staff Training
Instrumental in bringing Aromatherapy in to a wide variety of Health Care settings such as Senior Care Communities, Alzheimer's and Dementia floors, Assisted Living homes, Hospice settings, Massage and Bodywork centers, VA Hospital, Counselors, Acupuncturist clinics, Dentists, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Day Spas and even Holistic Vet centers. One example showcasing the results of her consulting work – a prominent senior community was given a 1 year grant to study complimentary therapies for agitation, anxiety (sun downing), disturbed sleep--and consequent falls related to poor sleep, appetite stimulation, and general wellness for care providers. After careful review, Aromatherapy and massage were selected as one of the therapy study areas. With Jodi’s help they were able to start their grant with: research-based essential oils selected for their goals, provide the massage therapists with appropriate concentrations of massage oil for this populations unique issues (skin issues, medications, etc.), give clear staff guidelines to follow that defined the intended use, instructions on amounts to be used and in what method of application to address their focus areas, and have all the supplies they needed to be successful. At the end of the grant, Aromatherapy was deemed successful in almost all areas, and therefore will continue to be provided to their residents and staff because of the impressive benefits provided.

Wellness and the Workplace
Jodi is a regular provider of Wellness Chats about natural healing methods and onsite Shiatsu Massage to companies such as Great River Energy, General Mills, and Palco Sports. She is often asked to speak at various Holistic Health Conferences throughout the year.

Jodi provides a variety of sessions, including an integrative session that combines Shiatsu massage, balancing the energy systems, intuitive insights and aromatherapy. Her clients leave with more than a rejuvenating experience…they take with them the gift of a multi-dimensional “wholeness” approach to healing. Happy customers go home with essential oil blends tailored to specific needs and desires, combined with acupressure points selected for opening energy fields and continued healing at home. Because Jodi cares about her clients beyond the office visit, she offers clear directions for essential oil use along with wellness strategies to continue the self-care journey.

My Apothecary
Jodi’s newest venture based on requests from customers and students! Many asked for access to Jodi’s extensive variety of essential oils, carriers, and supplies, and professional resources to create customized products for personal use and their clients. Her customers and students also asked for additional training and hands on learning opportunities -Jodi listened. My Apothecary will run throughout the year, offering additional fun workshops, additional training, and blending labs. The goal is to help those that want to meet and achieve the requirements of a 100 hour certificate in Aromatherapy, as recognized by the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.

Background

Jodi has run her own small businesses and has been an entrepreneur her entire adult life. At age 19, her parents retired and passed down the family business of a high volume Dairy Queen franchise. After 12 years she sold the DQ to stay home and raise their family of 3, with her beloved husband of 21 years, Joel. While home raising their 3 children, discovered her true interests lie in healing, human potential, spiritual science, and evolving as a conscious human being, (and she still loves DQ). She was able to pursue her studies, and work part time while being an at home Mom. In 2001 she opened her business office in Osseo, MN.
